Join us Sunday October 19th for Antehuman > AntiHuman: The Serpent in Cosmic Horror Literature & Posthuman Witchcraft with Sasha Ravitch

About the class: This class will explore some of the most notorious Serpent figures within the annals of cosmic horror literature, with special emphasis given to Howard, Smith, and Lovecraft’s “Serpent People”, Machen and Howard’s “Little People”, and Bishop and Lovecraft’s “Yig”. Through the excavation of these various ophidian literary figures and motifs, we identify the way in which these stories comprise a potential “folklore” for the posthuman witch and practitioner of stellar and deep space witchcraft. We will supplement with experiences and accounts of stellar witchcraft phenomena with snake stars, constellations, and deep space objects, and discover a throughline which facilitates a comprehensive, symbiotic relationship between the corpus of cosmic horror Serpents and the posthuman, atomic age witchcraft of outer space. A part of the Serpentine Path class series.

This class will be livestreamed at 7pm Eastern October 19th and will be sent out as a recording within 48hrs of the livestream.
