Also called Queen Elizabeth root, the fragrant, ivory-colored root of the iris, Iris germanica, is used in love magic and divination. Orris roots may be carried whole and dressed with an appropriate love drawing oil such as Love Drawing, Come to Me, or Follow Me Boy! or added to a conjure bag with other love drawing curios and herbs. They may also be placed in the four corners of the bedroom or the four corners of the bed between the mattresses to draw or renew love.
For use in divination, orris roots may be tied with a red string and made into a pendulum, particularly useful in seeking knowledge regarding matters of the heart.
