The Witch's Nawl

The Witch’s Nawl is at once a fetich and a versatile tool of the nocturnal artes. A spectral talon of the Witch Mother, this fetich calls upon the patroness of witches as I have come to know her. Hers is the winding serpentine garrote, the venom of vipers, the cacophonous cry of the strix, and the howling of lupinus beasts. It is she who heralds the winter and the darkness of night. She is the Noctifer, the mistress of shadows, invisibility, and of obfuscation. And to her belongs occulted wisdom and all which lies hidden from the eyes of day dwellers.

Work on crafting these fetiches began during the total lunar eclipse of March 14th 2025. Since then they have undergone additional ritual preparations and empowerments during Walpurgisnacht 2025, the Winter Solstice 2025, and the total lunar eclipse on March 3rd 2026. This Walpurgisnacht they will undergo their fifth and final ritual of ensouling and dedication to the work of she who is the queen of poisons, the mother of wolves, she of the gnashing teeth, of the first spilt blood, and the silent wing of owl.

Those who are familiar with our Blood Moon Oil will recognize her magic, as lunar eclipses stand as one of her heightened points of power in this work. In many ways the Witch's Nawl is the natural evolution of our work with the blood moon over the years and each fetich will be accompanied by a bottle of our Blood Moon Oil.

In praxis the Witch's Nawl may be carried or worn to call upon the aid and virtues of the Witch Mother, to be hidden within night's cloak, and shielded against magical attack. It serves as an aid in spirit flight, acting as a tool of spectral battle and warding against undesirable shades. It may be wielded as a wand in rites of fierce protection, exorcism, obfuscation, retribution, and malediction. The nawl may also be employed as a tool for inscribing and tracing sigils upon the surface of candles, clay, and other materia to draw upon the similar virtues and the aid of Her. Further, it stands as aid in necromantic works of conjuring the dead, "nailing" spirits in place, and to banish and exorcise the hungry or lingering dead.

Lastly it is a fetich of turning fortune and twisting favor. Of robbing from the stockpiles of the gluttonous and giving to those striving to be fed. A tool of vampiric potentiality which provides its most supple fruits to those who do not simply desire, but who hunger.

The Witch's Nawl is housed in the horn of a springbok which is capped by the skin of a goat and wrapped about in viper skin. Amongst the diverse materia nestled within are dirt from the cemetery gate and that of an apple orchard, sigils of the Witch Mother scribed in hallowed ink, tooth and fur of the wolf, bone of a gaboon viper, the feathers of nocturnal birds, datura, mandragora, henbane, belladonna, and the dusts of the dead.

The Witch's Nawl is limited in number to nine made available for public distribution. Each will come wrapped in black cloth and be accompanied by a bottle of Blood Moon Oil which may be used to periodically "feed" the fetich. Those who become their caretakers will also receive a PDF file which details a selection of workings by which the Witch Nawl may be employed.

Please note that the Witch Nawl comes without any beading as a default. Should you wish to have your fetich embellished with a strand of garnet, obsidian, and snake vertebrae beads so that it may be worn around the neck please purchase that as a separate option HERE.
